This is my partners’ review.These Venus razors are easy to use and are convenient to use when you are in hurry, or work is peripatetic and you are away from home. This razor leaves my legs feeling smooth and it contours around the knees better than any razor I have used recently. The rotating ball on the razor head helps with those tough to reach places. It manoeuvres well and allows me to shave quickly and efficiently without fear of cutting myself. Moreover, my legs remained smooth for a couple of days before they needed shaving again. In the past, with some other brand of blades they always got dull so quickly and I ended up getting razor burns or those unsightly bumps, but not with this razor. I have been pleasantly surprised how well it's holding out.I would highly recommend this to anyone who usually ends up with nicks when using a razor as this rarely happened to me. These blades should fit any Venus razors.

This is a pack of six replacement blades that fit all Venus razor handles except Simply Venus. Note that a handle is not included in the pack.

The blades are individually packed in a protective plastic carton with peel-off lid, so can be safely stored in the bathroom without detriment. They trim hair very close to the skin so you are left with smooth results with minimal effort; thanks to the incorporated gel strips, you do not even need to use shaving gel/foam. These really are the height of convenience.

The pack guides that you should consider changing the blades every two to six weeks depending on how often you shave. I find replacement is usually prompted by the gel strips becoming less effective around four weeks after first use (I store them in the shower cubicle); the blades are just not comfortable to use once that happens.

On the face of it these appear more expensive than the plain blades but, once you factor in the cost of a separate shaving...

I hadn't realised that I'd requested the same product twice and was confused by the two different pack sizes! Anyway, my previous review stands, but to reiterate:

The pros:

The sprung five blade head blades provides a close shave, especially on curvier area - i.e. calves and knees

The moisture strip is a good idea, but not essential (qv)

It's cheaper to purchase these blades in a pack of 6 then the smaller pack of 3

The heads fit the majority of Gillette Venus razor handles

The cons:

They are still expensive for what they are

The moisture strip can become adhered to the shower/bath if not removed after rinsing

The moisture strip, akin to the Olay heads, isn't essential if, like most women you use a shower gel/shaving gel to facilitate the required glide

The five blade system traps the removed hairs a bit too much and it's difficult to clean it effectively afterwards

In conclusion: Gillette could do...
