Castor oil is extracted through the process of cold pressing, the oil is normally clear to pale yellow in colour and has a consistency similar to that of honey.

As Castor oil is so viscous, it is not normally used in aromatherapy although adding a small amount of the oil to your massage oil base can help to leave the skin soft and hydrated.

In skincare, Castor oil is believed to provide a protective barrier for the skin, offering relief and protection from conditions such as nappy rash. When added to creams and lotions Castor oil adds conditioning properties intended to leave the skin soft and smooth.

Adding a small amount of castor to your shampoo is believed to help treat dandruff and itchy scalp conditions, equally, applying a very small amount of the oil to the dry ends of the hair offers deep conditioning benefits.

Helped loads with itchy bites!, 27 July 2012
I had tried various products to relieve itching from mosquito bites, such as sudocrem and several antiseptic creams, however they offered little in the way of relief, or needed to be applied very frequently. However, after rubbing some castor oil on my legs first thing in the morning the itchy feeling completely dissappeared snd lasted right up until the end of the day!! So impressed at the effectiveness of a natural product! Plus my legs were nice and soft all day too - BONUS :)

Had difficulty in obtaining castor oil as I believe it has been withdrawn from most chemists because of a misuse? by some people. As I only wanted it as a skin treatment I was very pleased to get some. Just a drop on the skin works great, a lot to be said for old fashioned products

Don't usually write reviews but this is worth it! Was suffering from severe hair loss! My hair was thinning out loads, it was brittle and dry! After using it for 2 weeks my hair feels a lot healthier and stronger and my hair falls out less! Love this product! Can't wait to see results after a couple of months :D the product had also arrived a lot sooner than I thought it would have! 2 days after being dispatched! Great stuff!
