It's quite hard to find a hair clipper that suits you when you haven't got the chance to physically use or test it. I set myself with a budget of around £30 and all of the £30 range hair clipper has best reviews as well as lousiest reviews. Some five-star reviews have only a word or two; 'Good', 'Excellent', 'I love it' and it's the same with one-star reviews. Well, I say, might as well don't write the reviews.
Anyway, I decided on this one despite terrible reviews. I used it for the first time yesterday and it took me less than 20 minutes which was great considering I spent about an hour if not more using my previous hair clipper.
Some reviews mentioned that the zoom wheel is loose but my unit works great. I mean if you press this hair clipper hard on your head, it will definitely change the length setting. That goes the same for my previous hair clipper anyway. The blades are good that it just cuts. However, hair did get stuck in the comb area and the blade and...

Cuts so short that I shave my head less frequently... (I'm a baldy... so I must tend the horse shoe from time to time). The built quality and adjustment is exceptional. The blades are superb. The battery is sublime and the charge is really long. It loses charge slowly and charges relatively quickly.
Washable (detachable) blades that I don't wash because... well the blades are snug and so tight fitting that hair doesn't get into the drive for the cutting mechanism (unlike my babyliss for mend (old model) titanium bladed cord/cordless which clogged up with hair and slowed it down a lot - plus the battery was pretty crap).
I had a Philips DIY 180 shaver before this and it was awful, but it was cheaper at the time, but when I ordered this it was the highest tier in the range, yet for some reason it was the cheapest... so I got it and MY goodness, will I next time spend the extra dosh for the quality.
It cuts so short I actually shave my neck and face just...

First of all, these do act as beard trimmers and shapers, but I cannot comment on how they perform in that respect, so ignore this review if this is what you want them for.
Secondly, I a comparing these with a mains powered Wahl set of cutters which have been a firm favourite of mine for years......well, when I say my favourite, I actually mean my wife as she cuts my hair!
The first thing I noticed about these is how light weight they are. If you are going to be using them for a long period then this is a big advantage. They are contoured and comfortable to hold. The combs are clipped into place depending on what shave you want. There is only one blade that is adjustable and this will go from 1mm to 23mm in 1mm increments. The setting is made by rotating a dial that can be a bit sticky, but to help you can use a finger on one side of the razor and the thumb on the other side (I'll upload some pictures to make that point a bit clearer). I did have an earlier...
