Finally, Philips is dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century, with a cartridge-based shaver cleaning system that doesn't need you to fill a reservoir from a bottle! It's a system other manufacturers have been using for some years, so it's nice to see Philips doing likewise, even if it is a bit late to the game.

Unlike those of some other makers', Philips' cleaning solutions doesn't contain any alcohol, so it may be better for those with sensitive skin. Personally, I've never had a problem with alcohol irritation (just ask my AA group), so I'd prefer to have had the sanitising benefits of an alcohol-based solution, but I doubt it makes much difference. Philips says that, with average use, each cartridge should last around 3 months, but I've found that only running the shaver through every other shave or so gives me an extra month or thereabouts.

The Philips cleaning system works just like those of other shaver makers - you slot a plastic cartridge...

Got a new Philips Shaver with Jet Clean system so need these refills. To be honest, although the jet Clean system does work fine, it is no better than what I used to do which was to pour a little of this solution into a ramekin dish and run the shaver immersed in it. But if you are going to use Jet Clean system then you need these refills.

Mostly good except for cost., 3 April 2015
Very easy to change cartridge and they do an excellent job of cleaning, I checked the results after two months and the cutters still looked like new. However they are supposed to last three months and the first two I used lasted one month each with a daily clean. I have started to clean every two or three days to see how long the next one lasts and to check the cleaning of the cutters to see if they remain pristine. Otherwise an expensive clean. My 7000 series cleaner always lasted three months per bottle of solution.
