Many moons ago I was a hairdresser and thus was very sceptical on how this or any hairdryer could make any difference to how smooth I could get my hair. I bought it simply because my old one had packed in and the 'shine' claim was taken with a pinch of salt! How wrong was I. This was my first use 10mins ago and still can't believe it really. Instantly I could tell my hair was drying smoother. I was using the same round smoothing brush as usual and no nozzle (which is my norm for speed)

I have thick hair but my individual hairs are fine, I have naturally frizzy, curly hair and usually after styling (albeit with little patience for sectioning at this stage) I am left with semi straight hair but still looking rather dry, not very smooth and with that big voluminous 70's hair look! I normally then section and use straighteners to get it all under control.

Well I could actually go out like this without straightening it is that smooth and controlled looking already.

I am very pleased with this hair dryer. It is perfect for both my children and partner's hair.The diffuser seems a bit smaller than on our old hairdryer, but does very well with my partners very curly hair - it leaves smooth curls with no frizz. I am using it on my children and it works quickly and efficiently.The cord on this hairdryer is brilliant! It is just under 2.5 metres, which I've not had before on a hairdryer. The hairdryer itself is quite light. The buttons are easy to use and aren't in the way whilst in use.Would recommend.

Its pretty hard to get excited about a hairdryer although my wife is very happy with the D5215. Its comfortable to hold and there is a decent length of cable attached which was a problem with some of the earlier Remington's so its good they have listened to customer opinions!As for whether it creates shinier hair, not sure about that to be honest, she will continue using it and I will update this review if her hair does indeed look healthier.
