Not a matte as expected, 2 Jan. 2018
It takes some shine off the classic gel finish, but I wouldn't call this matte very effective. I use it ony with sensationail gel polishes and I'm very disapointed with the result (supposed to be optional with its own brand). The best way for me is still to use a normal matte top coat on top of the gel and re-apply every other day.

Doesn't live up to the expectations..., 14 July 2016
This is pretty pants!There is no way to get a nice clean edge like on the packet cover, it goes kind of wobly edged, and isnt a true matte. Also, when used over black nail polish, it leaves a whiteish blue tinge taking the nice darness away from the polish. There is no way to acheive the look from the package!

Great for gel French manicure, really good price too. Used with 'starter kit' from Boots (the one that comes without the LED lamp) and the nail star UV light I also bought on Amazon. Great product, great value!
