Little goes a long way, but no overnight magic., 14 May 2014

I received the Scholl Velvet Smooth Night Mask as a gift with purchase when I bought the glorious Scholl Velvet Smooth Pedi Electric Hard Skin Remover. I use the mask (overnight) often after I polish my feet and I think this routine produces the best results. Compared to the other feet creams I used (and I used numerous products) I don't think this particular mask stands out. It feels like a cream (not too oily), it absorbs easily, it moisturises. But there is no overnight magic. It's just a good moisturising cream which works better over time (if you consistently apply it on freshly scrubbed and washed feet). Another plus - it does not have a strong smell.

Softer Feet after one application., 17 May 2014

This really does the job. Your feet take quite a battering: even if you are not walking on them, they are usually covering up with socks and shoes, away from the disinfectant and softening qualities of fresh air and water. This cream produces noticable effects on your feet from just one application. You will notice the skin softening, and the hard and dry areas beginning to disappear. Its a thick cream, spreads well, doesnt need a lot of massaging in. Not often you get a product that delivers so well.

The name is distracting. A foot mask. That's a sock, I would've thought, or perhaps a picture of Bruce Forsyth with a bit of elastic to keep it attached. Oh well. Forget the mask aspect, this is just some moisturiser (with Pro-Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E) that promises softer feet in 24 hours. Well, they felt a bit softer to me, but as I don't normally moisturise my feet overnight, and therefore don't subject them to a good feel in the morning, I can't say how much better they are. What I can say is that I didn't really like the thickness of the cream, which struck me as a bit like Pond's cold cream, which I also dislike. I found it took a while to be absorbed (and I needed to wash my hands to remove the residue), but it was fairly pleasant on the skin. I've tried it now for a while and I just don't notice much difference - it's okay, it makes the skin a tiny bit softer and smoother, but don't expect anything dramatic.
