Too much hype..., 9 Dec. 2015

For this review let's ignore the name attached to it, and just view the palette as a regular Urban Decay release, because in all honesty most of the raves for this seem to focus on this being a Gwen Stefani thing rather than a usable makeup product...

Most of the shadows in the palette are lighter neutrals, so you need to have fair skin to get the most out of the shades. Even then most of them look similar to each other once applied, so most of the looks I've tried so far ended up looking too similar. A huge disappointment when I've been careful to take my time to explore the different shade options available - I feel daft for wasting my time now.

Out of the brighter colours; the berry shade that I thought would be my favorite actually applies as a brown, the gold looks weird with my skin tone, the poppy champagne is gritty and has fallout, the pink looks too candyish once applied to be a regular pick for me, and blue? Maybe I'll wear that one a handful of times...
