The best straighteners for my thick curly hair, 12 Dec. 2015
The best straighteners for my thick curly hair. Did not burn my hair but straightened it in two passes. I could hold it close to my head with burning my skin and scalp. It would have nice to an electronic temp indicator instead the dial. Also you have be care that you don't accidentally switch it off by pressing the zero button. Generally i did feel my hair burning and was not dry and brittle.

I have always been loyal to GHDs when it comes to hair straighteners. Having mixed Afro hair, all other straighteners I have tried out don’t even come close to taming my frizz like GHDs do, so I was pretty sceptical before trying these out (To be honest, I thought if anything they would come in useful as a spare pair of straighteners, should my trusty GHDs ever give up on me!). Well, what can I say but ‘WOW!!’. Seriously, I would actually say that these gave a better, more sleeker, finish than my GHDs. The plates were large enough to ensure that the heat was evenly distributed throughout each section of my hair. I didn’t experience any snagging as the plates glided through my hair so easily. It took me 20 minutes to straighten my entire head (which is good going for my type of hair!) and my hair remained looking sleek and frizz-free all day. My only slight gripe with them is that they don’t have a digital display to tell you what temperature they are set to. It just has a dial...
